Woody Allen’s ‘Coup de Chance’ Arrives on Digital April 12

Coup de Chance, Woody Allen’s latest film  and his first fully in a foreign language, will finally be released to cinemas in the US on April 5, 2024, with a digital release on April 12. Both the theatrical and digital versions will be released by MPI Media Group, which released Allen’s last two films, A Rainy Day In New York and Rifkin’s Festival.

Coup de Chance is Allen’s 50th feature as writer-director.  Shot in Paris in French, it premiered at the Venice Film Festival last fall, has been released in most of Europe and Australia, and has garnered Allen’s best reviews since 2013’s Blue Jasmine.

The film — whose title translates to “stroke of luck” — stars Lou de Laâge, Valérie Lemercier, Melvil Poupaud, and Niels Schneider.

Fanny and Jean have everything of an ideal couple: fulfilled in their professional life, they live in a magnificent apartment in one of the beautiful districts of Paris and seem to be in love as if on the first day. But when Fanny meets, by chance, Alain, a former high school friend and old flame, everything changes. They see each other again very quickly and get closer and closer … and their new bond leads to marital infidelity and ultimately crime.
