Burton Lane, E.Y. Fred Astaire plays the titular Finian, a bona-fide Irish rogue who has made off with Og (Tommy Steele) the leprechaun’s pot of gold. Arriving in the fine state of Missitucky with his daughter, Sharon (a lovely and luminous Petula Clark), Finian finds his dreams magically multiplying gold coins become fouled by the machinations of a racist Senator (Keenan Wynn) and the dreams of some sharecroppers (Don Francks and others). Meanwhile, Og is in pursuit, his immortality on the line.
