‘Tomato Red: Blood Money’ Squeezes Onto Digital, Disc Feb. 16

Featuring an engrossing performance by Emmy Award winner Julia Garner (“Ozark”) as the incredibly ambitious redhead Jamalee, Tomato Red: Blood Money arrives on DVD and On Demand on February 16 from Indican Pictures. Written and directed by Academy Award nominee Juanita Wilson (The Door  and based on the acclaimed novel by Daniel Woodrell (“Winter’s Bone,” “Ride With The Devil”), the sharp crime thriller exposes the life of a struggling low class family shaken by corruption, murder and an inescapable reputation.

Tomato Red: Blood Money follows ex-con Sammy Barlach (Jake Weary, TNT’s “Animal Kingdom”) as he lives day-by-day recklessly, unable to sustain a fulfilling life, until meeting Jamalee (Garner) and her brother, Jason (Nick Roux, “Jane by Design”). Offered a safe haven, Sammy soon finds himself living with the siblings and their mother, Bev (Golden Globe nominee Anna Friel, “Pushing Daisies”), who collectively support an unfavorable reputation in their small town of Venus Holler. Despite their dreams of living a better life, their impulsive decisions catch up with them and murder soon transforms their dynamic. It isn’t before long that they are faced with the ultimate decision: stay and fight, or outrun their mistakes.

The film was produced by Kerry Barden (“The Help”) and Paul Schnee (“Spotlight”), and executive produced by Ronan Flynn (“Calvary”), Emmy Award winner John Weber (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) and Woodrell. Additional cast includes Douglas M. Griffin (“Maggie”) and Julian Richings (“Man of Steel”). Tomato Red: Blood Money will be available on DVD for the suggested retail price of $26.98, and On Demand via Apple TV, Google Play, Prime Video, FandangoNOW and more on February 16.
