Based on the inspiring true story, Colette is an entertaining and compelling biopic about an independent and forward-thinking woman who overcomes her controlling husband and cultural mores to pursue her artistic and dramatic desires. Colette arrives on Digital and the digital movie app Movies Anywhere on December 4, 2018 and on Blu-rayTM Combo Pack, DVD and On Demand December 11, 2018 from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. The incredibly riveting and sharp film explores the struggles of a female author in a male dominated society. Critics are calling Colette “exhilarating, inspiring and gorgeous” (Jordan Hoffman, The Guardian) and is being praised as “visually delightful, deliciously funny and delectably bawdy” (Colin Covert, Star Tribune).

After marrying a successful Parisian writer known commonly as “Willy” (Dominic West (Tomb Raider, “The Affair”)), Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette (Keira Knightley (Pride and Prejudice, Atonement)) is transplanted from her childhood home in rural France to the intellectual and artistic splendor of Paris. Soon after, Willy convinces Colette to ghostwrite for him. She pens a semi-autobiographical novel about a witty and brazen country girl named Claudine, sparking a bestseller and a cultural sensation. After its success, Colette and Willy become the talk of Paris and their adventures inspire additional Claudine novels. Colette’s fight over creative ownership defies gender roles and drives her to overcome societal constraints, revolutionizing literature, fashion and sexual expression. Directed by Wash Westmoreland and written by Wash Westmoreland, Richard Glatzer, Rebecca Lenkiewicz.

A chronicle of transgressions and female empowerment that is relevant to today’s narrative, Colette on Blu-rayTM, DVD and Digital comes packed with special bonus features including never-before-seen deleted scenes, featurettes with the cast and crew and a photo gallery, giving audiences the chance to delve deeper into the relatable coming-of-age story.
