Mario Van Peebles (New Jack City) stars as Chief, a former U.S. Marshal fallen on hard times and suffering extreme anxiety attacks, in the timely and topical action thriller ARMED, hitting select theaters and digital & VOD on September 14 from GVN Releasing via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. When he meets a former colleague who explains that all of the survivors of his unit are suffering the same symptoms, Chief realizes there may be a larger conspiracy at hand. ARMED also stars Ryan Guzman (Step Up Revolution), Columbus Short (Stomp the Yard), Jemma Dallender (I Spit on Your Grave 2), Brad Cater (Black Mass), Shakira Barrera (“GLOW”), Laz Alonso (Fast & Furious, Avatar), Lane Garrison (“Prison Break”), singer Dionne Warwick, Melvin Van Peebles (Sweet Sweetback’s Baadasssss Song), Roland Martin, Rocsi Diaz (Soul Ties) and Van Jones with Paul Rodriguez (Blood Work) and William Fichtner (Armageddon).

The digital release of ARMED is loaded with bonus content, including Alternate End Credits featuring true facts that influenced the subject matter of the film; the music video for “Uh-Huh” by Kaykos and two featurettes.  Fans can join the cast and crew as they talk about the significance of film and their experience filming the movie in “Making of Armed” and watch Mario Van Peebles as he scours the crowd at a gun march keeping himself on high alert in “Gun March.”

Synopsis:
Chief is a former U.S. Marshal who has fallen on hard times after he led his team of undercover agents on a raid that went horribly wrong. As Chief struggles to get his life back on track, a former colleague reappears in his life and explains that all of the survivors from his unit are suffering the same symptoms he is and that there may be a larger conspiracy at hand.
