FilmRise announces the digital on demand release of Anja Murmann’s captivating thriller, UNINTENDED, starring Elizabeth Lail from the Netflix hit series YOU in her feature film debut. The film, which premiered at The Woodstock Film Festival and was an Official Selection at the Portland Film Festival, tells the story of a young woman who has repressed the memory of having shot someone when she was thirteen-years-old. Years later that memory comes back to haunt her. UNINTENDED will be released on DVD and Blu-ray and will be for sale and rental on iTunes, Prime Video and Google Play; it will also be available on cable on demand nationally beginning November 7, 2019.
Filmed by award-winning director of photography James Carman, the beautifully shot suspense/drama opens with Lea (Hannah Westerfield), an adventurous, free-spirited thirteen-year-old, whose life changes dramatically on the day she is goaded into a fight with fifteen-year-old Bill. The fight ends when Lea accidentally causes Bill to fall into a deep pit. Due to family matters, Lea is forced to leave town without knowing Bill’s fate. Twelve years later, Lea’s (Elizabeth Lail of YOU, ONCE UPON A TIME) repressed memory of the unsettled altercation with Bill triggers depression and a prescription drug dependency. On the verge of losing both her apartment and job, she is forced to confront her demons as her memories slowly drift back to torment her. She returns to her childhood home, which leaves her no choice but to uncover what happened to Bill on that day all those years ago.
UNINTENDED has a running time of 92 minutes and is not rated.
