SUMMER SOLSTICE is a sequel to the worldwide, best-selling, romantic author Rosamunde Pilcher’s “Winter Solstice.” From the fertile imagination of John Goldsmith comes this companion piece about the further lives of the characters a year after their first appearance. Elfrida (Sinéad Cusack) and Oscar (Jan Niklas) have taken up residence together and are dealing with the aftermath of the death of Oscar’s wife and daughter. Meanwhile Carrie (Lara-Joy Körner) and Sam (Jason Durr) find their relationship coming under pressure when the seductive writer Alexia (Jacqueline Bisset) tries to band with Sam and not only in a professional sense. Young couple Lucy and Rory also face the dangers of jealousy. As the different stories connect and interact with each other everyone is finally forced to show where their loyalties lie. And just how much they are willing to risk.
