Pamela Anderson delivers a poignant, tour-de-force performance as Shelly, who’s spent 30 years headlining in an iconic rhinestone and feathers Vegas revue, Le Razzle Dazzle. When the stage manager (Dave Bautista) announces the show’s closure in two weeks, Shelly’s life is thrust into uncertainty. Leaning on her brassy best friend, former showgirl-turned-performing-cocktail-waitress Annette (Jamie Lee Curtis), Shelly must find her way through this career crisis, perhaps by reconnecting with her estranged daughter, Hannah (Billie Lourd). An evocative American tale directed by Gia Coppola and written by Kate Gersten. The screenplay was adapted by Gersten from her own play, Body of Work, based on her visits to the legacy Jubilee! Show shortly before its closure in 2016. The film has received critical acclaim, and also earned both Anderson and Curtis multiple nominations for their raw, powerful performances this awards season.
