Best TV Shows if You Like ‘The Walking Dead’

Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, and the rest of The Walking Dead crew have captured the hearts of many, including us. It’s not hard to like the series, especially if you’re into the zombie or survival genre, but with the 11 seasons this show had, there are a lot of things that happened, and you probably already had a connection with the characters of the TWD. We understand if you feel somehow empty after finishing the entire series, and there’s no shame in that.

That’s why we’re here to share some of the best TV shows that you can watch if you love The Walking Dead. These movies might not be exactly similar to TWD, but they can give you a similar adrenaline rush, intense drama, and an excellent set of characters. Just make sure to have a fast internet connection, preferably fiber internet, so you can enjoy these shows to the fullest. Let’s start!

  1. The 100

The first on our list is The 100. It’s about a group of survivors who lived in the International Space Stations for many years. However, they decided to send the so-called juveniles back to earth as their air supply started running low, along with other resources. These 100 prisoners need to check if the Earth is already habitable. Unfortunately, they need to survive on their own, scavenge for their food, and protect themselves from other groups of survivors.

  1. Sweet Tooth

Sweet Tooth is a dystopian series set in a world with a deadly virus and an increasing number of hybrid human babies with animal characteristics. The story is about Gus, a human-deer hybrid who begins an adventure to look for his mother after his father’s death. However, there’s a group of people who are hunting hybrid kids to be a part of scientific research about what they really are.

  1. iZombie

iZombie is a comedy-drama series based on a DC comic book. It’s all about a Seattle Police medical examiner named Liv Moore who became a zombie. However, she’s not your ordinary zombie that rots and becomes mindless. Whenever she eats the brains of the victims, or anyone for that matter, she can see their memories and absorb their personalities. Of course, her newly discovered power can help solve cases that her co-workers might find odd at first.

iZombie is currently available on Netflix. But since it’s a good show, there’s a possibility that it will be available on other streaming platforms like HBO Max, Go Latino TV, and even Hulu. However, that announcement is yet to come.

  1. Fear the Walking Dead

Fear the Walking Dead is a natural continuation for fans of The Walking Dead universe. This series explores the early days of the zombie apocalypse on the West Coast, which gives another perspective of a different group of people. Don’t expect to see Rick, Daryl, or any of the OG TWD cast immediately since their encounters will be until the further seasons.

You can watch Fear the Walking Dead on the AMC Network app. However, if you have Dish TV and you have an AMC subscription, you can also watch it there.

  1. The Last of Us

Of course, the groundbreaking TV series that took the world by storm. The Last of Us is set in a world with a global pandemic that destroyed the entire civilization. However, there’s still hope— a 14-year-old girl who is immune to the infection that killed millions of people worldwide. So, there’s a middle-aged survivor who needs to smuggle this kid out of a quarantine zone in the hope of a vaccine.

The Bottom Line

There’s no series that can ever replace The Walking Dead, but there are quite a few other TV shows that can provide you with a good time like TWD did. So, make sure to give these TV series a try, and let us know what you think!
