Casino

Casino is one of the most iconic movies set in a casino ever brought to the screen. It follows the life of organized crime figures Sam Rothstein and Tony Spilotro, played by Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci respectively. However, the movie does not give people much of an education on actual gaming. If the film has inspired you to try your luck, then do some research first. Learn about bet maxing and matched betting. You also need to learn about unsettled bets, unsettled bet meaning a game’s result is not yet determined. It’s something you’ll come across a lot as a bettor. Until you know the meaning of these (and other) terms you won’t ever be able to make any real money because you’ll spend the majority of your time gaming in a state of confusion.

Ocean’s Eleven

Ocean’s Eleven is another popular gaming movie. It gives a little more detail on how certain games are played than Casino does. Following on from the last point, you should also take some time to research the games that you are playing. Researching terms alone won’t help you. If you don’t know about the games that you are playing then you’ll never be able to learn the tactics required in order to win them. Ocean’s Eleven is a fun film you’re sure to enjoy if you have never seen it before.

Croupier

Croupier is a pretty underrated film. It follows a casino croupier and his daily life. The film is a lot of fun but is dark in places. It is not available on most streaming services because of its relative obscurity but it can be found with a little hard work. If you’re interested in it, then you will be pleased to know that the film shows a lot in terms of gaming and how games can be played in order to win. That said, it is a film and of course, dramatic liberties are taken. It’s not a realistic depiction of a casino.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is a lot of fun. It features Johnny Depp and Benicio del Toro and portrays the life of Hunter S. Thompson, a gonzo journalist. The film is set mostly in casinos but doesn’t show a lot of gaming. Even so, it is a fun film you’re sure to enjoy, especially if you like oddball comedies. It is widely available and can be found on a number of different streaming services.

Watching casino-related films and television programs can be an effective way of improving your gaming skills, and also developing a passion for gaming. If you’re interested in gaming, then give the films featured here a watch.
