Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero, the stars of the cult classic phenomenon The Room – the inspiration behind the Academy Award®-nominated The Disaster Artist (2017, Best Adapted Screenplay) – return to the screen after 15 years in the thrilling black comedy Best F(r)iends: Volume One, the first of a two-volume series, arriving worldwide on Digital and On Demand September 25 from Lionsgate. In what The Hollywood Reporter describes as “classic…bizarre and charming,” Wiseau and Sestero play unlikely friends torn apart by greed, hatred, jealousy, and gold teeth with devastating and mysterious consequences. Also starring Paul Scheer (TV’s “The League,” The Disaster Artist), Best F(r)iends: Volume One features an original musical score composed by Daniel Platzman of Imagine Dragons and introduces the talents of newcomer director and co-cinematographer Justin MacGregor.
When an unlikely business partnership forms between a drifter (Greg Sestero) and a quirky mortician (Tommy Wiseau), paranoia soon develops and both men are forced to come to terms with the fragility of friendship and loyalty.
