‘The Heart Stays’ on Digital March 26
Synopsis
Two Native American sisters leave the traditions and safety of their Native nation to follow their own long-held dreams – the older one to attend a distinguished college and the younger one to become a rock star. Soon after leaving their beloved land and community, their journeys collide with racism, drugs, and violence, forcing the older teen to choose between her own life’s work and saving her sister’s life.
From Director and Writer Diane Fraher (The Reawakening, Pearl of a Panther), The Heart Stays is a universal coming-of-age story told through the prism of authentic Osage Native American culture. Led by a Native American cast, the film stars Nathalie Standingcloud (Killers of the Flower Moon, “Reservation Dogs”), Sierra Spirit Kihega, Irene Bedard (Pocahontas), and Jon Proudstar (So Close to Perfect, “Reservation Dogs”).
