MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000

This November, Shout! Factory TV presents two classic MST3K episodes available exclusively month-long!

Multiple Emmy®-nominated and Peabody Award-winning Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K) is a true cult classic. Its high-camp rendition of B-movies from every genre to the small screen makes it one of the most memorable pop culture shows of our time. Brimming with laugh-out-loud commentaries from caustically hilarious space travelers Joel Robinson, Mike Nelson and their robot pals Crow T. Robot and Tom Servo, MST3K was a genuine phenomenon. Its popularity spawned an MST3K fan following that numbers over hundreds of thousands of fans world-wide.

MST3K: Space Mutiny

It’s Hilarious…But not on purpose. One of the funniest films featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000 in the show’s 11-year run, Space Mutiny is a hilariously bad sci-fi epic that’s guaranteed to have you in stitches. Combine a wardrobe of spandex and tinfoil; a set boasting AstroTurf® and spray-painted floor buffers; and special effects that, well, aren’t so special, and you’ve got one of the most hysterical cheeseball movies to ever come out of the ’80s. Grab your friends and have a riot with this underground cult hit!

MST3K: The Black Scorpion

The original trailer for The Black Scorpion boasts it was “produced on a scale never achieved before by any science-fiction picture.” That is absolutely true, but not in a good way.

A massive volcanic eruption in Mexico spews quite a bit more than lava in this 1957 horror/sci-fi movie. Two American geologists work with the Mexican army to destroy the giant arachnids that emerge and wreak havoc, ultimately facing off in a bullring against the biggest and meanest one. Willis O’Brien, the visionary stop-motion pioneer, will hopefully be much, much, much better remembered for the original King Kong than this final effort. On the bright side, it’s grist for a million laughs, thanks to Joel and the bots aboard the Satellite of Love.
