“Reunion is the kind of intimate familial horror that resonates in any era. It pairs well with contemporaries like Ari Aster’s Hereditary, Jennifer Kent’s The Babadook, and Natalie Erika James’ Relic. It’s incisive, observant, and makes its characters earn their catharsis.” – CINAPSE

OFFICIAL FILM SYNOPSIS:
A pregnant woman returns to her recently deceased grandparents’ old family home to spend time with her estranged mother. What begins as a tenuous reunion slowly turns terrifying.

A psychological thriller that preys upon perception, REUNION sees veteran actress Julia Ormond (TV’s The Walking Dead: World Beyond, My Week With Marilyn) deliver a tour-de-force performance of threateningly quiet intensity and features a twisty narrative that will burrow itself into the darkest corners of your mind.

WHAT THE CRITICS ARE SAYING…

“writer and director Jake Mahaffy has proved that you don’t always need ghosts and creepy masked murderers for an effective horror film. Sometimes your family can be the most scary of all.” – LOVE HORROR

“Reunion is a haunting piece of work that capably shows that dispenses away from obvious scare tactics to deliver a lingering tale of family tragedy and the actions one would commit to dull the pain. Recommended.” – IN THEIR OWN LEAGUE

“This is a mature, skillfully made, beautifully shot, edited and designed film that revels in being exactly the old-fashioned horror the poster and the trailer are promising.” – STUFF NZ

“an expertly crafted film anchored by a heartbreaking performance from Ormond and her tortured character” – KILLER HORROR CRITIC

“The performances from these two actresses are fantastic. You can cut the tension with a knife.” – DAILY DEAD

“Mahaffy expertly blends impressive effects and engaging visuals—kaleidoscopic shots, grainy home videos, creepy projector slides, microscopic closeups, and various substances dissolving in water—to amplify the atmosphere without distracting from the narrative.” – MODERN HORRORS
