Ethan Coen's 'Drive-Away Dolls' Springs Into Action on VOD, Digital March 12

Drive-Away Dolls is scheduled to stream as a premiun VOD and digital sell-through on March 12. Since the distributor, Focus Features, is owned by Comcast through its wholly owned subsidiary NBCUniversal — which, of course, owns the Peacock streaming service — expect the film to stream free on Peacock mostly likely this June.

Two best friends have opposite personalities. Jamie is the free spirit of the two, currently regretting another breakup with her latest girlfriend. Meanwhile, Marian is the more demure friend trying to talk some sense into her uninhibited friend. They decide to go on a road trip to Tallahassee on a whim. However, they meet some bumbling criminals and get caught up in their shenanigans.

Drive-Away Dolls is directed by Ethan Coen, in his second feature without the collaboration of his brother,  Joel Coen,  from a script Ethan Coen co-wrote and produced with Tricia Cooke.

Producers are Ethan Coen, Tricia Cooke, Robert Graf, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner.

The film stars Margaret Qualley, Geraldine Viswanathan, Beanie Feldstein, Pedro Pascal, Colman Domingo, Bill Camp and Matt Damon.

This comedy caper follows Jamie, an uninhibited free spirit bemoaning yet another breakup with a girlfriend, and her demure friend Marian who desperately needs to loosen up. In search of a fresh start, the two embark on an impromptu road trip to Tallahassee, but things quickly go awry when they cross paths with a group of inept criminals along the way.

Focus Features istributed Drive-Away Dolls in the US, with Universal Pictures International handling international distribution.
