Four hundred years ago, vampires fled Europe and settled in Indochina, only to be hunted down until few remained. To survive undetected, the remaining vampires created a strict law: “Kill no humans unless they know.” In present-day Saigon, Nhat, a young vampire, lives among the Daydreamers, a secluded community that believes suppressing their thirst for human blood may one day restore their humanity. But when his long-lost brother, Marco, returns with tales of vampires thriving among humans, Nhat is tempted by a freer existence. He breaks his mother’s dying promise and follows Marco into the glamorous nightlife of Saigon, where he meets Ha, a rebellious schoolgirl who stumbles upon his secret– defying the vampire law. Nhat develops a connection, thus chooses to protect her. But their escape is complicated by Trieu, Marco’s ruthless vampire queen, who orders their execution. As chaos erupts — the Daydreamers exposed, the city turning against them — Nhat and Marco face off in a final, heartbreaking battle. One brother embraces the monster within, while the other fights to hold on to his last shred of humanity.
