‘Con Man: Season 1’ Goes Digital Nov. 8

Available on Digital November 8

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Join sci-fi favorites Alan Tudyk (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Frozen, “Firefly”) and Nathan Fillion (“Castle”, “Firefly,” Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog) as they conquer the unconventional world of fan conventions in Con Man: Season 1, available at digital retailers on November 8 from Lionsgate. Created by Tudyk, the first season features guest appearances from Felicia Day (“Buffy The Vampire Slayer”), Seth Green (“Family Guy,” “Robot Chicken”), Mindy Sterling (Austin Powers franchise), Sean Astin (The Lord of The Rings franchise), and filmmakers James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Joss Whedon (The Avengers, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) among many, many others. Con Man: Season 2 will premiere later this fall on Lionsgate’s Over-The-Top streaming service Comic-Con HQ, a year-round destination for fans to stream highly-curated original content, highly-curated licensed films and television shows and unrivaled coverage from San Diego Comic-Con. Con Man: Season 1 will be available on EST for the suggested retail price of $9.99.

A 2016 short form Emmy contender, Con Man centers on the post-show life of Wray Nerely (Alan Tudyk), the costar of  “Spectrum,” a sci-fi TV series canceled before its time that later became a beloved cult classic. Wray’s best friend, Jack Moore (Nathan Fillion) starred as the series’ Captain and has gone on to become a major celebrity, while Wray continues to struggle to find his big break. Jack enjoys the life of an A-lister while Wray is the begrudging guest of sci-fi conventions, comic book store appearances, and different pop-culture events. The series explores these events and all the crazy (and real) things that happen behind the scenes in the world of fandom.
