Freestyle Digital Media, the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios, has acquired North American VOD rights to the dark comedy feature POSTAL. POSTAL will be available to rent and own on North American digital HD internet, cable, and satellite platforms on June 8, 2021 through Freestyle Digital Media.
A comedy based on true events, POSTAL imagines the love-fueled meltdown of Phillip Tress, a hopelessly-romantic Florida millennial. On the day he is set to fly to Hawaii and propose to his dream girl, Phillip wages a war against the shipping company that fails to deliver his engagement ring. The setback unleashes a lifetime of angst onto a hapless customer service rep and delivers the ultimate “Florida Man” story. POSTAL combines dark humor and relatable agony leaving the audience rooting for and against its desperate yet impassioned hero.
Written and directed by Tyler Falbo, POSTAL features an ensemble cast including Michael Shenefelt (‘Phillip Tress’), Eric Vega (‘Kevin’), and Elyse DuFour (‘Brittany’).
POSTAL was produced by Michael Sokol. Executive producers include Tyler Falbo, Michael Sokol, Ramsey Carey, Jessica Roszko, L. Christian Smith, Jason Petty and Lori Collins.
“We were fortunate to screen POSTAL in festivals all over the country and it was amazing to get such a positive response to Phil’s story,” said filmmaker Tyler Falbo. “Because all of us can identify with a really bad customer service call where things get out of hand a bit. Hopefully, POSTAL gives people some kind of hilarious cathartic experience so they don’t lose it the next time they get terrible customer service.”
“Personally, I found Tyler’s comedy and storytelling style to be so unique and enduring, and I was eager, like most, to get the opportunity to work with him on a film,” stated producer Michael Sokol. “POSTAL represents a very collaborative effort of cast, crew, editors, composers and songwriters, all who made huge contributions to create an unforgettable, hilarious, and unpredictable story.”
