"The movie business is macabre. Grotesque.
It is a combination of a football game
and a brothel."

Herman Melville, Robert Ryan, Terrence Stamp, Paul Newman, Ava Gardner, Linda Lavin, Burt Reynolds, Yahoo Serious, Chris Farley and Jennifer Lawrence

The remarkable Peter Ustinov co-wrote, produced and directed this adaptation of the Herman Melville classic, that co-stars an equally remarkable cast. As H.M.S. Avenger heads into battle against the French fleet during the Napoleonic Wars, the dark shadow of two recent mutinies in the English fleet concerns Captain Vere (Peter Ustinov). He relies on his cruel and often sadistic Master-at-Arms, John Claggert (Robert Ryan), to maintain the tenuous order and discipline aboard the ship. When a new seaman, Billy Budd (Terence Stamp), is pressed into service from a passing merchantman, his innocent, happy-go-lucky attitude quickly endears him to both his messmates as well as the ship’s officers. However, his charismatic naiveté bothers Claggert, whose perverse depravity drives him to treat Billy in such a way that threatens to engulf the ship in mutiny and murder. Also starring Melvyn Douglas and David McCallum. Truly underrated and overlooked at the time of its release, Ustinov’s signal cinematic achievement – and Robert Krasker’s luminous cinematography – is fully revealed on this scintillating Blu-ray disc presentation in jaw-dropping, glorious Black and White. Special Feature: Commentary by Terence Stamp and Filmmaker Steven Soderbergh; HD Trailer. 16×9 Letterbox
A personal passion project of star Paul Newman, The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean delivers up a revisionist take on the revisionist Western during a time when all of cinema was revising itself. This laconic and humanist take on the larger-than-life legends of the West, combined with Newman’s low-brow commedia approach to Judge Bean is now considered an ahead of its time triumph. Director John Huston and writer John Milius, two creators of the decidedly machismo school, slow things down and poke holes in the apparatus of masculine myth-making in this sprawling road show. Featuring Anthony Perkins, Tab Hunter, Victoria Principal, Roddy McDowall, John Huston (as Grizzly Adams!), Anthony Zerbe, Jacqueline Bisset, Ned Beatty, Stacy Keach and Ava Gardner as Lily Langtry. 16×9 Widescreen

When glamorous movie star Felicia Blake (Debbie Reynolds) pens her tell-all memoir, Mel steps forward as the pair of lips from page 123, and makes sure the diner’s customers all know it. Down Under comedy phenom Yahoo Serious stars in this thoroughly off-the-beaten paths biopic-phantastique-pastiche inspired by the life of Australia’s favorite 19th Century outlaw, Ned Kelly. Serious plays a time-transposed 20th Century incarnation of Ned Kelly as a modern day Robin Hood who steals from corrupt bankers and deposits the funds with the poor. “Reckless” Kelly’s bandit life goes awry thanks to evil banker Sir John (Hugo Weaving) and Kelly is driven by the Australian code of bank robbers to ply his trade in the States. But the USA has other plans for Kelly than gentleman thief… like direct-to-video action star! 16×9 Widescreen

Burt Reynolds directs and stars in this gritty neo-noir depicting a band of rogue vice cops taking on an untouchable crime lord layered with a soupçon of Laura. Rachel Ward is luminous as the Laura-like figure whose fate propels the action, and Burt’s years in front of the camera give him the skills to blend high caliber action and gripping dark dramatics. 16×9 Widescreen
Burt Reynolds stars as Stroker Ace, a wisecracking, fast-living NASCAR driver whose antics land him in hot water with his sponsors and into the contract clutches of the onerous fried chicken magnate Clyde Torkle (Ned Beatty). Now Stroker must turn on the charm for Torkle’s public relations executive, the beautiful Pembrook Feeney (Lone Anderson) while steering his way free of being tied to Torkle. 16×9 Widescreen
Christopher Guest directs Chris Farley and Matthew Perry in this tale of colonial exploration by a pair of intrepid adventurers not named Lewis and Clark. In the early 19th century, veteran tracker and habitual drunkard Bartholomew Hunt (Farley) and foppish blowhard Leslie Edwards (Perry) lead a crew of misfits and lowlifes in a trek across the West and straight into historical oblivion. 16×9 Widescreen

While living in a crime-ridden neighborhood, young, beautiful Nikita Samuelle (Peta Wilson) is wrongly accused of murdering a police officer who had been harassing and blackmailing her. Expecting life imprisonment, she instead finds herself forced to work for a ruthless, top-secret government organization, Section One, which stages a fake suicide to cover her disappearance.
Blue Collar Comedy Tour’s breakout star Bill Engvall created, executive produces and stars as Bill Pearson, a family counselor who could use some counseling of his own to deal with his unconventional brood in this family-centered sitcom. TV titans Nancy Travis and Tim Meadows co-star as wife and pal, while a pre-superstar Jennifer Lawrence (The Hunger Games) plays his precocious and pugnacious teen-age daughter.
