Director: Paul Verhoeven
Starring: Renée Soutendijk, Rutger Hauer, Hans van Tongeren, Jeroen Krabbé, Toon Agterberg, Maarten Spanjer

Synopsis: From legendary filmmaker Paul Verhoeven (Robocop) and screenwriter Gerard Soeteman (Soldier of Orange) comes this unrated director’s cut of the explosive, fast-paced and thrilling coming-of-age drama. Raw, intense and unabashedly sexual, Spetters is a wild ride that will knock the unsuspecting for a loop. Rien, Eef and Hans are three young guys stuck in an industrial town on the outskirts of Rotterdam. They couldn’t be more different except for one thing: their shared passion for motorcycle racing, which each sees as his ticket to a better life. But a deeper passion will soon rule each of their lives, when a sexy, ambitious blonde (Renée Soutendijk, The 4th Man) comes between them and provokes unforeseen events that will rock their worlds. Co-starring Rutger Hauer (Flesh + Blood) and Jeroen Krabbé (The Fugitive).

Director: Thom Eberhardt
Starring: Matthew Modine, Daphne Zuniga, Christine Lahti, Todd Field, Zakes Mokae

Synopsis: It takes hard work, discipline and commitment to get through med school. Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket) stars as Joe Slovak, a brilliant first-year med student whose casual, nonconforming approach to life gets tested when he enrolls in Gross Anatomy, the toughest course in med school. Joe’s freewheeling, independent style creates funny moments in the classroom, but puts him at odds with his demanding professor (Christine Lahti, The Executioner’s Song), who questions whether her class “rebel” has what it takes to be a doctor. On top of that, Joe falls in love with his no-nonsense lab partner (Daphne Zuniga, Modern Girls), who won’t let anything, especially romance, interfere with her plans. And while Joe’s never done anything by the book, he proves he does have what it takes to succeed – without changing his ways. Todd Field (Eyes Wide Shut) co-stars in this romantic drama wonderfully directed by cult filmmaker Thom Eberhardt (Night of the Comet, Sole Survivor).

Mystery/Romance/Drama / 117 min / NR / Color

Director: Alfred Hitchcock
Starring: Ingrid Bergman, Joseph Cotton, Michael Wilding, Cecil Parker, Margaret Leighton

Synopsis: Mystery, murder and passion from the master of suspense, Alfred Hitchcock (Lifeboat, Psycho). Screen legends Ingrid Bergman (Joan of Arc, Intermezzo) and Joseph Cotten (Portrait of Jennie, The Farmer’s Daughter) star in Under Capricorn, a lush Technicolor drama. Cotten plays Sam Flusky, a native Briton banished to Australia for murder. Bergman is his wife, Henrietta, the disturbed sister of the man Flusky was convicted of killing. When a new governor (Cecil Parker, 23 Paces to Baker Street) arrives, he brings with him his cousin Adare (Michael Wilding, Stage Fright), an old friend of Henrietta’s, who sets out to help her conquer her demons and return her life to normal. But is Henrietta going insane, or is someone trying to drive her mad? Is she merely an alcoholic, or is someone trying to poison her? No one but Hitchcock could handle these questions with such surefire tension, and the performances by the entire cast are excellent. A rich account of emotional self-sacrifice, Under Capricorn is that rare film which captures the humanity of its characters while keeping the audience on the edge of their seats. Beautifully shot by Jack Cardiff (Black Narcissus).

The Pink Panther Cartoon Collection Vol. 2 (1966-1968)

Blu-ray and DVD Street Date: June 26, 2018
Blu-ray SRP: $29.95
DVD SRP: $19.95

Animation / NR / B&W

Director: Friz Freleng, Hawley Pratt
Starring: Larry Storch, Rich Little, Paul Frees, Laura Olsher, Mel Blanc, Henry Mancini

Synopsis: In this collection of twenty animated theatrical shorts, the Pink Panther firmly hits his stride, the character’s persona first established and refined in his previous twenty films. The Pink Panther of 1966-1968 is just reaching his prime, one blithe cat maintaining his cool in the face of an uptight society, often personified by the stress-wracked “Little Man.” Here, as always, are pop-culture parodies (the still-timely superhero spoof Super Pink), satires of ’60s counterculture (Psychedelic Pink), and flirtations with outright surrealism (The Hand Is Pinker Than the Eye, Pink Outs). With production supervised by animation legend Friz Freleng, and direction largely handled by the Panther’s original graphic designer Hawley Pratt, these shorts blend classic cartoon slapstick with a more modern sensibility that make them favorites with audiences of all ages.

Special Features: 20 shorts in chronological order (21-40) – All with original audio (no laugh tracks) | Audio commentaries for selected films by author Mark Arnold, historian Jerry Beck, filmmaker Greg Ford, cartoon writer William Hohauser, and veteran DePatie-Freleng storymen Tony Benedict and Art Leonardi | Pink Outs (TV Version) | From Page to Screen – In the Pink (5:26) | From Page to Screen – The Pink Blueprint (6:22)
