Colonel Effingham’s Raid (1945), 70 min.
A retired southern colonel devises a plan to save a historic town square from being demolished. Charles Coburn, Joan Bennett and William Eythe star in this 1945 classic.

Down on the Farm (1938), 61 min.
The Jones family is full of excitement when their Aunt Ida’s farm is chosen for a cornhusking contest. Meanwhile, Pa Jones gets involved in the local politics. Jed Prouty, Spring Byington, Louise Fazenda and Russell Gleason star in this 1938 classic.

Everything Happens at Night (1939), 77 min.
Two competing reporters, one British and one American, discover a supposedly assassinated political peacekeeper and his ice skating daughter. As both of them compete for the story, they are sidetracked in pursuing their affection. They soon become in danger when they inadvertently reveal the peacekeeper’s location. Sonja Henie, Ray Milland, and Robert Cummings star in this 1939 classic.

Five of a Kind (1938), 85 min.
In this romantic comedy, the four-and-a-half year old Dionne quintuplets play the talented and charming Wyatt Quintuplets. Jean Hersholt, Claire Trevor, and Cesar Romero also star in this story that revolves around singing, dancing, playing with puppies, and being charming.

The Affairs of Cellini (1934), 79 min.
Frederic March stars in The Affairs of Cellini – a four-time Academy Award-nominated* biographic film about the 16th century sculptor Benvenuto Cellini. Set in the rich lushness of the Florence Renaissance, the film tells the story of an artist who woos the town Duchess. Constance Bennett, Fredric March, Frank Morgan and Fay Wray star in The Affairs of Cellini.

Alex & the Gypsy (1976), 99 min.
An aging bondsman posts bail for his former gypsy lover, after she is accused of stabbing her husband – even though he doubts her loyalty. Jack Lemmon, Geneviève Bujold and James woods star in Alex and the Gypsy.

Call Her Savage (1932), 88 min.
A fiery-tempered, impulsive young girl enters into a brief, but unsatisfactory marriage with a drunkard. After inheriting a fortune, she goes to New York. How she came by her fiendish temper and her choice for a second husband are learned in a surprising climax based on a novel by Tiffany Thayer. Clara Bow, Gilbert Roland and Thelma Todd star in this 1932 classic.

Gateway (1938), 75 min.
A war correspondent returning to America on an ocean liner meets an Irish girl who is sailing to meet her fiancé in America. On the voyage, a lecherous old man attempts to molest her and is injured when she pushes him away. He brings charges against her and she is detained at Ellis Island. Charges are finally cleared when the correspondent comes to her defense. Don Ameche, Arleen Whelan, Gregory Ratoff, Binnie Barnes and Gilbert Roland star in this 1938 classic.

Champagne Charlie (1936), 59 min.
When smooth talking unethical gambler “Champagne Charlie” Courtland tries to recover a debt, his backers hope for a large payout. In the meantime, he begins courting a young heiress. In this tale told backwards, the plot keeps viewers guessing someone murdered Charlie in the beginning. Paul Cavanagh, Helen Wood and Thomas Beck star in this 1936 classic.

August 12

The Girl on the Bridge (1951), 75 min.
Saved from suicide by a kindly old watchmaker, an unwed mother takes a job at the store and eventually accepts the watchmaker’s marriage proposal. Their happiness is shattered when two unsavory men from her past show up and blackmail the couple. Hugo Haas, Beverly Michaels, Robert Dane and Anthony Jochim star in The Girl On The Bridge.

Fighting Back (1948), 61 min.
Fighting Back is the story of Nick Sanders, a former GI honorably discharged from the Army with a pardon on his former crimes. When he returns home, he comes back to his wife and son. However, his former past rears its ugly head when a former acquaintance, Sam Lang, imposes on his life. Paul Langton, Jean Rogers, Gary Gray, Joe Sawyer and John Kellogg star in this 1948 classic.

Air Patrol (1962), 70 min.
After a thief steels a valuable Fragonard painting and takes off in a helicopter, its owner agrees to pay a ransom. Los Angeles Detective Sgt. Castle and his two partners investigate. Willard Parker, Merry Anders, Robert Dix, John Holland and Russ Bender star in Air Patrol.
