The Best Blu-ray Movies

Discover the Best Blu-ray Movies Ever ReleasedBlu-ray has redefined the way in which we get to watch movies from the comfort of our own homes. With all of its special features and enhancements, it definitely creates a cinema experience in your own lounge. Some Blu-ray DVDs have however outdone the rest with what they have accomplished in an effort to bring the silver screen onto your small screen.

It may seem like nothing to transfer a cinema movie to a disc but it is in fact far more involved than one would have thought. The first thing that has to be kept in mind is the aspect ratio of the cinema screen vs. the aspect ratio of a television screen. The second big thing that has to be kept in mind is the simple fact of sound. Not everyone has perfect surround sound systems in their lounges and the cinema sound has to somehow be captured on disc for every TV to enjoy.

The third important thing that has to be done masterfully is finally the issue of color. Color can very often become dull when it is transferred to disc. A successful disc will have the same color-popping visuals that the original movie had at the cinemas. Some movies have accomplished most of these things. We are going to explore a few of these movies that have transformed your small screen.

Batman: The Dark Knight

This has been by far the Blu-ray movie that completely blows your mind. The Blu-ray version of this movie is so good that it is just about better than the cinema release. In this release, the HD screen was cleverly used in an aspect ratio that gives you an IMAX movie experience that is undeniable. Gotham city is a scene that has always captured audiences and the Blu-ray edition portrays it in ways that makes the color and scenes jump out and transports you there.

James Bond: Casino Royale

Something that can easily be lost in a disc release of a movie is detail. Every scene in every movie has details that are brilliantly captured for the big screen. When you condense the image for TV the details are easily lost. This is especially true of a movie that is filmed in a casino, because casinos are put together by detail. But this Blu-ray release managed to capture it on disc in a way that you are still surrounded by all the cinema detail, just like you are at online casinos.

Star Trek (2009 Remake)

J.J. Abrams is known for his wild ways of cinematography. The entire Star Trek was filmed with dramatic light flares. It somehow transports you into the future and adds to not the only the sci-fi aspect but also the action aspect of the film. Star Trek is all about sci-fi rock and roll. Transporting those colorful light flares onto disc was done masterfully and watching the movie at home is no different to watching it on the big screen.

These three are most certainly not the only ones that were masterfully done but they are three that truly stand out to be absolutely amazing. We can look forward to a future with some fantastic Blu-ray experiences that equal or even better the cinema experience of the original release.
