LOS ANGELES (December 9, 2011) – Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment’s “manufacturing on demand” (“MOD”) program continues to expand with the newest selection of films as part of MGM’s Limited Edition Collection. These 22 films will be available through major online retailers in December. This group of releases features classics from 1953 to 1994 including performances by Hollywood’s greats – Edward G. Robinson, Susan George, Peter Fonda, Helena Bonham Carter, and Rob Lowe to name just a few.

1950’s

·       The Magnetic Monster (1953) – When a young scientist's experiments with a new radioactive isotope cause it to double in size every 12 hours, a nearby town's existence is threatened by the deadly radiation. Stars Richard Carlson; Jean Byron; King Donovan. Directed by Curt Siodmak.

·       Vice Squad (1953) – The life of a captain of detectives during the course of an ordinary day in the 1950s. Stars Edward G. Robinson; Paulette Goddard; K.T. Stevens. Directed by Arnold Laven.

·       The Big Caper (1957) – An indebted con man persuades a crime boss to bankroll a heist on a small town bank, posing as a married couple with the boss’s girl. Stars Rory Calhoun; Mary Costa; James Gregory; Robert Harris. Directed by Robert Stevens.

·       Jungle Heat (1957) - Japanese fifth columnists create havoc in the industries and plantations of Pre-Pearl Harbor Hawaii, until an American doctor helps defeat them. Stars Lex Barker; Mari Blanchard. Direct by Howard Koch.

1960’s

·       Something Wild (1961)A young girl leaves home to try and cope with a brutal attack she suffers and keeps hidden from her family.  A garage mechanic saves her from a deep depression but will the past repeat itself in this raw drama. Stars Carroll Baker; Ralph Meeker. Directed by Herb Gardner; Jack Garfein.

·       You Have To Run Fast (1961)A doctor is on the run from the mob after he identifies two hoods involved in a murder. Stars Craig Hill; Elaine Edwards. Directed by Edward L. Cahn.

·       Diary of a Bachelor (1963)The trials and tribulations of a bachelor who recently gets engaged and what happens when his bride-to-be accidentally stumbles upon his "diary." Stars Joe Silver; Dom DeLuise; Arlene Golonka; Paula Stewart; William Traylor. Directed by Sandy Howard.

 

1970’s

·       Savage Wild (1970) – A docudrama set in Northern Canada about a nature photographer who raises three timber wolf cubs to save them from hunters. Stars Gordon Eastman; Carl Spore; Maria Eastman; Jim Timiaough; Arlo Curtis. Directed by Gordon Eastman.

·       Busting (1973) – Elliott Gould and Robert Blake star in this comedy/drama about vice officers, assigned to the mean streets of L.A., who wage a war against crooked cops on the force.         Stars Elliott Gould; Robert Blake; Allen Garfield; Antonio Fargas; Michael Lerner. Directed by Peter Hyams.

·       A Small Town in Texas (1976) – After serving three years in prison, a young man's hopes of reuniting with his sweetheart and baby are dashed when he discovers that the sheriff has taken up with his girlfriend. Stars Timothy Bottoms; Susan George; Bo Hopkins; Art Hindle; Morgan Woodward. Directed by Jack Starrett.

1980’s

·       Up the Creek (1984) – Four delinquents from the worst university in the area have one chance to bring honor to their institution, in this hilarious and titillating whitewater raft race flick. Stars Tim Matheson; Dan Monahan; Sandy Helberg; Stephen Furst; Blaine Novak. Directed by Robert Butler.

·     Inside Out (1986) – A drama that tackles agoraphobia, the fear of open spaces. Gould plays a man who fears leaving his New York apartment; his only contacts with the world are through the phone and delivery services. Stars Elliott Gould; Howard Hesseman; Jennifer Tilly; Beah Richards; Dana Elcar. Directed by Robert Taicher.

·       Nutcracker: The Motion Picture (1986) – The colorful holiday classic is finally brought to the big screen, designed by famed children's story author and artist Maurice Sendak, and written for the first time to be as close as possible to the original story.  A lavish, exciting and heart-warming celebration of dance, of music, and of life. Based upon the Pacific Northwest Ballet's original production. Stars Hugh Bigney; Vanessa Sharp; Patricia Barker; Wade Walthall; Julie Harris. Directed by Carroll Ballard.

·       Opposing Force (1986) – The only female soldier in a military experiment designed to simulate POW torture conditions falls victim to the commanding officer--who justifies his insidious actions upon her as a training technique. Stars Tom Skerritt; Lisa Eichorn; Anthony Zerbe; Richard Roundtree. Directed by Eric Karson.

·       Mercenary Fighters (1988) – International mercenaries descend on an African tribe to smother an uprising as pawns of a corrupt African President.  Acting legend Peter Fonda stars as one of the mercs who realize they've been duped and sets out to make things right. Stars Peter Fonda; Reb Brown; Ron O'Neal; James Mitchum. Directed by Riki Skelach.

·       Getting it Right (1989) – Gavin Lamb is a 31 year-old virgin who, in just a few days, will lose his virginity to one woman, almost be forced to marry another, and possibly find true love with a third in this hilarious English comedy. Stars Jessie Birdsall; Helena Bonham Carter; Peter Cook; John Gielgud; Shirley Ann Field; Jane Horrocks; Judy Parfitt; Lynn Redgrave. Directed by Randal Kleiser.

1990’s

·       Bullseye (1990) – Michael Caine and Roger Moore play two crooks who are dead ringers for two nuclear scientists who are illegally auctioning off a super energy producing cold fusion technique.         Stars Michael Caine; Roger Moore; Sally Kirkland. Directed by Michael Winner.

·    The Finest Hour (1991) – Two Navy S.E.A.L.S. are sent on a dangerous mission to destroy an Iraqi missile installation containing chemical warheads aimed at the U.S. ships entering the Persian Gulf. Stars Rob Lowe; Gale Hansen; Tracy Griffith; Eb Lottimer. Directed by Shimon Dotan.

·       Leather Jackets (1991) – Leather-jacketed Elwes and friends rip off and murder a Vietnamese mob bagman, whose associates vow vengeance.  A devastating human drama about love, friendship and the pain of growing up in a world gone wild. Leather Jackets explores the fragile relationship between three friends desperate to make sense of their lives before a brutal act of violence rips them apart. Stars D.B.
